🌿 Syngonium Wendlandii
Common Name: Wendland's Arrowhead Vine
Origin: Native to tropical regions of Central and South America
Syngonium Wendlandii is a stunning variety of the arrowhead vine, known for its striking dark green, velvety leaves that have a subtle silvery sheen. The heart-shaped leaves start with a more arrowhead shape and develop into elongated forms as the plant matures. This variety is perfect for adding a touch of tropical elegance to your home, whether grown as a trailing vine or trained to climb a support.
As a low-maintenance and adaptable plant, Syngonium Wendlandii makes a great addition to any indoor space, thriving in a variety of conditions and growing steadily with minimal care.
🌱 Care Tips:
Light:
Prefers bright, indirect light but can tolerate low light. In lower light conditions, its growth may slow, and the variegation may become less prominent.
Water:
Water when the top 2–3 cm (1 inch) of soil feels dry. Be sure to not overwater, as it’s sensitive to root rot. Ensure the pot has good drainage.
Humidity:
Enjoys moderate to high humidity, so misting or using a humidifier can help it thrive in drier environments.
Temperature:
Best in temperatures between 18°C to 27°C (65°F to 80°F). Keep it away from drafts and areas with extreme temperature fluctuations.
Soil:
Use a well-draining, aroid mix with added perlite for better aeration and drainage. It’s important not to let the soil stay soggy.
Fertiliser:
Feed monthly during the growing season (spring to summer) with a balanced, diluted liquid fertiliser. In winter, reduce feeding.
Pet Friendly:
⚠️ No – Syngonium Wendlandii is toxic to pets if ingested, so keep it out of reach of curious cats and dogs.
