About Wera Plants

Ramya Konuri- Owner

Growing up on a tea estate in India, I was surrounded by the lush beauty of plants and forests. I have fond memories of playing with my brother and sister in the gardens around our home, soaking in the sights and sounds of nature. Those early years sparked a lifelong fascination with plants, unknowingly fueling my curiosity about their lives and unique qualities.

My academic journey took me in a very different direction—I studied Engineering, followed by Psychology and International Management. While these fields may seem far from the world of plants, each one helped shape how I think, create, and connect with people. The blend of structure, understanding human behavior, and global perspective has helped me bring a unique approach to running my small business.

When I moved to Australia, my passion for plants began as a hobby—filling our home with greenery and joy. But soon, the collection outgrew our space, leading to the creation of Wera Plants. This venture allows me to nurture my cherished plant babies and help them find homes where they can thrive and be loved.

I now live in Sydney with my amazing husband, who works full-time and supports me in every way he can, and our little daughter Ishya, who already shares our love for plants and often helps water them or happily runs around the shop.

Wera Plants is more than a shop—it's an extension of my heart and my journey. Thank you for being a part of it. If you’d like to follow along or get involved, please visit our website, Facebook, or Instagram pages. We’d love to connect with you!
