Making your own Indoor Potting Mix using Bunnings products- Australia

Creating the ideal Indoor Potting mix is like preparing a fine recipe – it requires the right ingredients in the correct proportions. Here's a list of essential components for your Indoor Potting mix:

1. Perlite: Perlite is a lightweight, volcanic mineral that adds further aeration to your mix, preventing compacting and improving root health.

2. Peat Moss: Peat Moss retains moisture while improving aeration and is a sustainable option. You can also use Coconut Coir as an alternative.

3. Charcoal: Activated charcoal keeps the mix fresh and helps control odors and fungal growth.

4. Indoor Potting Mix: You can use any Indoor Potting mix 

Process

1. You need to take 4 parts of Indoor Potting mix (Part can be measured depending on how much potting mix you want to make)

    

2. Add 1 part Perlite to it and mix well
3. Add 1 part Peat Moss or Coconut Coir and again mix it well
4. Add 1 part Charcoal and mix the entire potting mix well. You can add fertliser to this mix at this stage or add it after you pot the plants.
